Natural, Built, Virtual — the Texas A&M College of Architecture’s 21st Annual Research Symposium is scheduled for Monday, September 16, 2019. This year’s theme is the Future of the Design Professions: Looking Back, Visioning Forward.

Beginning with continental breakfast and registration in the Langford B Exhibit Hall (lobby of Preston Geren Auditorium), the symposium will feature faculty and student research relevant to natural, built, and virtual environments.

To highlight the diverse range of research and creative works within the college, the symposium will have an exciting new format with multiple modes of participation:

  • POSTER SESSION: Posters will be displayed throughout the day in the lobby of Langford B. A panel of jurors will select “Best in Show” for faculty and students.

  • RESEARCH & CREATIVE DEMONSTRATIONS: Live, interactive demonstrations on a variety of exciting topics, including virtual reality.

  • TED-Arch: Rapid-fire, 5-minute presentations.

  • MODERATED PANEL DISCUSSIONS: Moderated 30-minute panel discussions around the theme of innovations in high-impact learning.

  • RESEARCH & GRANT SHOWCASE: An array of faculty research will be highlighted in 15-minute presentations.

The full schedule of events will be posted soon!

Please note that ALL classes within the College of Architecture occurring between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on September 16 are cancelled on the day of the symposium. All students, faculty and staff are highly encouraged to attend.
